Dunes, beaches and sand bars form a dynamic system which is constantly 
in motion. In calm weather, wave action moves sand to the beach and during 
storms sand moves offshore to form sand bars. Destruction of dunes and 
removal of beach sand has caused permanent damage to this naturally 
occurring system. Please be mindful of sand dunes. Destabilizing them 
by walking on them and picking sea oats is very bad.
